Why We Meet on the Third Tuesday
A short note on the rhythm of the lodge calendar and how stated meetings are scheduled.
Each lodge under the Grand Lodge of Texas sets its own stated meeting in its bylaws. Ours falls on the third Tuesday of each month — a tradition that long predates living memory in this lodge.
The rhythm matters. A monthly stated meeting is the regular heartbeat of the lodge, when the lodge is opened on the appropriate degree, business is conducted, and degrees are conferred. Between stated meetings, called meetings handle additional degree work, and Floor School every Tuesday gives officers and candidates the practice they need to do the work well.
